People who changed their mind on having kids, what sparked the change?

I’m about to be 24(F), and the thought of having kids has never been and still isn’t appealing to me. I can smile and have a conversation with children if needed, but during those interactions I never really feel that maternal grab to have one of my own, you know? I’m almost sort of relieved when the interaction is over (children tend to have a lot more energy than I do haha!)

Everyone always says I’ll change my mind when I’m older, but I’ve been firm in my opinion since I was 11 years old. I didn’t have the best childhood (emotionally speaking), and I’m not looking to inflict my same pain on a new human (especially not without years of therapy).

For those of you who did end up changing your mind, what did it for you? Was it one single thing or was it a collection of events or ideas?

Just genuinely curious to hear other perspectives. Not trying to change my own mind or anything, I just like hearing other’s stories! :)
