Are Chinese cars shit?

Long story short I hate China (I don't hate Chinese). I don't support the Chinese Communist Party and what they do to the people, and what they do to Australia. We get bent over and take it, but I don't know if we have any other option because they are our economy. Without them, we're kinda fucked.

Anyway, I digress. Chinese cars have come a long way, a bit like the Korean car industry from 30 years ago. They've come so far in fact that I actually am starting to like Chinese cars...

Their price point is incredible, significantly cheaper than the offerings from established European or Asian manufacturers and they have similar features. They have the market cornered with the cheapest 4x4 ute, van, truck and EV etc.

Which brings me to my main point - Are they shit? Do people have 150,000+ kms on a Chinese car without major drama? And are buyers getting an expensive lesson in resale value?

I feel like they haven't been proven yet, or are they rapidly becoming the Hyundai and Kia we know today and skipping a few steps.

TLDR: - Reliability? - Resale Value? - Shit?
