Can I Travel While on PGWP Applied Status?

Hi there!

I’m an international student who recently completed my studies on December 13. I received my program completion letter on January 3 and am now waiting for my official transcripts, which are expected to arrive during the week of January 6.

I plan to apply for my PGWP soon and will be on implied status once the application is submitted. I’m considering traveling to my home country and returning to Canada afterward.

Here’s my current status: • My Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is valid until my passport expires. • My study permit will still be valid when I re-enter Canada, though it will only have 5 days remaining before expiry.

Is this a wise decision given the current circumstances? Are there risks I should be aware of when traveling and returning to Canada on applied status?
