CX50 vs CX30 - Thoughts?
Hi all!
This time next year I will be test driving and purchasing a new vehicle. I'm just being proactive and researching my options in advance so I know exactly what I want. I have narrowed down my search to Mazda, I'm dead set on getting one, and if you look at my post history I've been seriously considering either a CX30 or a CX50, and I have posted in both subreddits before.
I am often the driver out of my friends, and I also end up driving when I go places with my parents, so my point here is that the backseats of my current car do get used. Additionally, I ski in the winter, so I need to be able to fit my skis in the cargo area with the seats folded down (my skis have a length of 170cm / 66in). I also know the type of driver I am, and I know I would appreciate the Turbo with the extra power, adding to the fun to drive nature. And this is where my issue lies: I like the pricing of the CX30 Turbo, but I know I could benefit from the space of the CX50. Until I actually sit down and crunch numbers with a salesman, I am not sure whether the CX50 Turbo would be in my price range.
I guess what I'm getting at is, did anyone look at CX30s when getting their CX50, and why did you choose the CX50? And, if you have a non-turbo CX50, how is that one to drive? Do I give up the Turbo to get the extra space of the CX50? I could definitely get a non-turbo CX50 for the price of a CX30 Turbo. But I'm not sure I would want to settle for something less as I plan to keep this car for 5+ years. Maybe I go for the smaller CX30 Turbo but I could get the top trim? I'm not sure.
Just looking for some insight. Thank you!
