Is getting a CPA still worth it?
Believe I’m about to be 3/4 soon and was kinda excited to finally pass all my tests. But all I ever hear about is how this license is gonna be useless in a couple years due to offshoring and AI. Ppl keep saying they’ll hire cpas from India for a fraction of the cost and a lot of ppl said they already are. I also hear that AI will probably be taking a lot of the jobs too. On top of that I hear they are lowering the 150 credit requirement so more ppl will be able to get in. How much validity are there to these claims? And do you think it’s worth the return on investment?
Edit: I know it’ll def be better to have a cpa than a bachelors in accounting. Just trying to figure out if in the long run(10,20,30 yrs) it will have been worth it to get a cpa and stick with accounting or switch to a field that’s not being threatened by all these external inconveniences.
