Is this trade really as bad as people say?

Hi, I read a few threads here with people saying how bad this industry is and that I should look for something else. Talking about low pay, bad work environment, bad companies, health issues, etc., and that you should do something else. I know folks on Reddit can be a bit hyperbolic, so I’m writing if I can get some conformation if it really is this bad. I was going to go to school for this, but now I’m a bit scared. Any insight would be useful, as the last day for a refund is tomorrow.
