[Nominations Megathread] 2019 /r/CHIBears end-of-season awards!
Well, here we are.
The season is in the books, and we've had plenty of time to reflect on how it ended.
This season has been a blast - probably exceeded even the most optimistic of projections. Reflecting on all the spicy moments like the Roquan Smith holdout meme war, the arrival of Mack, the slaughter of the Rams, and the NFC North title clinch against the Packers, just to name a few. If you want to take a peek at last years nominations thread, you can view it here
- READ THIS: the nomination thread will have parent comments stating each category, listed below. To nominate, simply reply to the parent comment with your nomination (do not double comment - they will be removed) or, if it's been posted already, upvote the nomination of your choice.
- the top 5 nominations in each category will be compiled onto a ballot for a vote
- This thread will be stickied and up for one week, beginning today. After that, the ballot will be created and pushed out to the community in a follow-up thread
Categories: This year we have opted to remove the Beat Reporter and Podcast of the year - it's pretty much a default Hoge and Jahns award, so it seemed excessive. Analyst of the Year has replaced it.
- Quality Posters of the Year: There are quite a few people in this sub who spend considerable time posting stuff for us to read, dissect, discuss and debate - this takes people time and really is what makes this whole ship run - it's what makes this sub great. So, to recognize those people, as voted on by you, the people, the TOP 3 will be recognized by a unique user flair and a medal (gold/silver/bronze) that will stay up for the duration of the upcoming (19-20) season. Last years winners were: /u/Adipost1, /u/emperos, and /u/NotRyanPace. I am pretty confident that everyone recognizes those names.
- Quality Commenter of the Year: This is to recognize the top single user who you feel most often sparks conversation, responds to comments, shares insight, and routinely interacts with the user base. /u/NotRyanPace won this last year as well.
- Post of the Year:
- Offensive Bear of the Year:
- Defensive Bear of the Year:
- Comeback Bear of the Year:
- Play of the Year:
- Moment of the Year: Can be a point in a game, a tweet, a draft pick - whatever. Just has to be represented clearly in its nomination.
- Meme of the Year:
- Game of the Year:
- Bummer Bear of the Year:
- "That aged well" tweet/article of the Year: an article or tweet bashing us that only served to make the original author look like an ass-hat.
- Analyst of the Year: media member, analyst - this can go to whoever as long as they produce and provide content for the Bears.
- Fair and Benevolent Award: basically, who Turner'd harder than Turner this year.
We've had a fun season this year, we should have some good content to revisit.
