Another few inches tonight, coldest weather yet on the way
A system should bring another possible 2" or so of snow tonight into Thursday morning. There will be a brief warmup over the weekend into the mid-upper 30s with a rain-snow mix before the bottom drops out on temps. Highs in the single digits and lows below zero are expected for Monday and Tuesday- possibly extending into Wednesday.
Another possible winter storm is on the horizon for perhaps mid-week into the weekend next week, as well. Models right now have it skimming the area to the south, so it's something to watch. Additionally, the cold weather looks to last through the month with perhaps another very brief warmup towards the last week before the trough reloads. Needless to say, this is looking to end up the coldest and snowiest January since the historic winter of 2013-2014.
