Poor Fluffurnutter.....you will be so missed.
TW: Sudden Bunny Death
Mega sad to post this. TIA to anyone who can help.
One of our buns died, & I'm trying to make sense of this...
We were away traveling for nearly 2 weeks, got home Tuesday, & our beloved 3year old boybunny passed away this morning. So far his lil' bunwife is behaving normally. While we were away the bunnies stayed at our house, in their normal area, & we had friends/family come through to check on/feed/spend time with them.
We had been worried last week about the buns because our caregiver gave the rabbits an entire banana on Thursday. We had explained to them on this & previous occasions how small the bits of banana need to be, & told him not to give banana every day - no matter how intensely Fluff gives off MurderBun vibes on no-nanner mornings. Our friend didn't want the banana to 'go to waste' so he gave the entire thing to our 2 bunnies.
When we got the picture of the whole unpeeled banana next to our rabbit, we immediately called our friend, but it was already too late & all of the banana had been eaten. Our friend checked back like 6-8 hours later after work, & let us know that both buns were active, eating hay, drinking, no abnormal poo, etc. It's likely that Fluff cornered the banana & that he ate the majority of it. Fluffurnutter was about 7-8lbs.
So that was on Thursday. At 5am today when Dad left for work, Fluffurnutter was lethargic/unresponsive (Dad texted me w/ concern), & at 7am before taking child to school, I found that Fluff had passed away. Today is Wednesday.
QUESTION:
Is it even possible that the entire banana on Thursday could have caused our bunny to die today, 6 days later??
