Wiring 2 pair of speakers with one 14AWG 4 conductor wire and more

Hey!

I'm looking to connect 5.1.2 Klipsch speakers (RP-8060FA II, RP-504C II, RP-502S II) to Denon AVR-X1700H.

I saw a few YT videos with a few very nice home made cables (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZT8KBqcx24) and I was thinking about doing something similar, but with a small twist:

  • Fronts - buy 14AWG 4 conductor wire and for each front speaker:
    • use 2 out of 4 wires to connect regular front speaker
    • use 2 out of 4 wires to connect Atmos up-firing speaker
  • Central - use regular 14AWG 2 conductor wire cable
  • Surrounds:
    • run one 14AWG 4 conductor wire to the back of the room
    • terminate under couch with 4 banana female sockets (2 pairs)
    • use regular 14AWG 2 conductor wire to connect each speaker to 2 banana sockets

It would:

  • make the setup look a bit cleaner (only 1 cable to each front speaker and 1 cable to the back of the room)
  • allow me to easily use a different color for the cable that goes to the back of the room and 2 cables that go to the surround speakers

Are there any possible technical issues with connecting speakers this way? Except wasting a lot of time to create those cables 🙃

Thanks!
