Another “what should I see post” 🙈
Hi there 👋 Trying to decide between Illinoise, Stereophonic, The Great Gatsby, and Cabaret . . . or something I’m not familiar with ! Tommy ? Outsiders ?
Anyone care to comment on any of those shows ? I’ve read a decent amount of negative about The Great Gatbsy being Disney-esque and lacking heart / depth (would much rather be able to see the ART version tbh). I’ve also read a decent amount of negative about Cabaret (I’ve actually never seen Cabaret on stage, but was a big fan of the Alan Cumming recording).
Background: I’m a first-time mom to a delightful, almost-1-year-old baby girl, and this will be my first show in about a year and a half. I don’t get out much, so I’m trying to make it count ☺️
Love thoughtful, creative, artistic pieces (favorite shows include The Great Comet, The Last 5 Years, Hamilton). Don’t like corny, old-timey Broadway (Chicago).
Thank you for your help !
