35m, reevaluating my personal finance and investments
I'm 35m, have about 60k total in retirement but I was at a lower salary for most of my career as a teacher (about 45k a year). Now my income from my small business is around 200k per year. Im maxing my Roth, and will be starting a new SIMPLE IRA for myself and employees and maxing that every year.
Im planning on changing my portfolio (was/am using an advisor) to just 100 percent VTI, and trying to do 15-20 percent of take home pay in the future years. My retirement goal would be to live off about $50k a year (my expenses now with a mortgage is $50k a year). All my debts are paid off besides a 6 percent mortgage with 330k left. I don't want to retire early as I really enjoy working and already take 4 months a year off for my off season.
I was planning on maybe adding more bonds and international in like 15 years.
Never really had this much money before, but wanted to just pedal to the medal much as I can do take advantage of compound interest
