Vulkan launches but it doesn't work

I launch Vulkan, it launches, but it instantly freezes, making impossible to navigate UI or playing, I really want Vulkan to work because it's the only way I can fully enjoy the game at a reasonable fps

things I already tried:
clearing cache at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.34\temp\shaders
reinstalling game
checking game files integrity via Steam
