Is this a bug?

Just came out of the vault with the magic books. Read them all, stole them all to sell them. As soon as I came out of the vault, every single character is outlined as friendly, neutral, enemy, party member, etc. It honestly hurts my eyes. Is this supposed to be a thing or is it a bug? Both my character and astarion have temporary life points now because they read the thay Codex thing, but aside from that, there's nothing that implies this should be happening. Help??
