Gale's hair is white

I was playing when I noticed Gale's hair is slowly but surely turning white during my act 2 playthrough, is this meant to happen?

(I'm on my first ever playthrough, please don't gimme spoilers, I just wanted to know if my game was fucking up or it's part of the story)
