My quick yapping about the gameplay of Awaria and the game in general after 100% it.
Before i begin, i absolutely LOVE Helltaker, its probably top 10 games i ever played, despite not really enjoying puzzle games. Alright, when i was firstly launching Awaria, main thing in my mind was helltaker, which was a puzzle game except the fight with judgement and Examtaker DLC. After finishing examtaker i thought "Damn...its much better than puzzles, i wish vanripper would make more games like this"
...and so he did
AND ITS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
Where do i even start? The gameplay is simple yet satisfying as hell. I never was too good at games like Awaria...but somehow even my "skill issue" ass managed to avoid the ghosts and their projectiles when being very near them, it just makes playing so...again, satisfying, which is the word i would use to describe most of the Awaria. Player stands before a chellange which rewards him with peak dialouges and art.
in my honest opinion, dodging Zmora's triple attack in 9th chapter is best gameplay moment in game, being even better than final fight with Striga
Every ghost is so well done, everything about them, their look, personalities, skills in game etc. I really wish we had more dialouges with them, i worte about it in my previous post anyway.
Maps are also done so well, game forces player to adapt to each one of layouts, where the items are and where we can repair objectives. Time pressure forcing us to move faster- or just don't stop at all, making the game "move or die" was such a good choice.
If there is only thing i dislike about the gameplay...is the RNG, sometimes we will just roll the requiered materials in much simpler combinations, making some attempts much easier, but it also makes game more diverse, so i wouldn't call it fully bad thing, just my observation.
Whats next...oh yes! Our characters, Ula, Baba and possessed Ula. Giving player new powers as game goes on is so refreshing, making us able to destroy everything that Striga shoots at us in final chapter IS COOL AS HELL.
The only missed opportunity is that Ula's drone is non-existent in gameplay
Arts...same as helltaker, wholesome, cute and funny! It feels very rewarding to watch them after finishing chapters or watching them in gallery.
I guess thats all- I'm curious if some of you may have a different opinion about some stuff.
