Reaction to learning Santa isn’t real?

So I know a lot of autistic individuals who had a complete meltdown and questioned their parents trust after learning that Santa isn’t real. I want to raise my children agnostically while still celebrating Christmas, but I’m not sure I want to possibly put my children through the distress of learning Santa isn’t real and possibly lose their trust.
