Lost dog advice
Wondering if there’s any more I can do to search for a lost dog (in the UK)
Our usual dog sitter moved house, to a different town, and it was on our way when we were going away for one night. We dropped our dog off Sunday 28th July. The front door was left open. The dog got out.
The dog sitter moved in with her boyfriend, and I’m pretty sure he’s the problem. He’s lied to us about sightings and how and when our dog got out.
I have contacted the local council, local vets, local kennels, posted all over local Facebook groups. I am not local so I am commuting 1hr15mins one way every day to search. I have posted posters through letterboxes in the area of the village he has been seen in. I’ve put posters up around the village. I have a few volunteers helping out, one with normal drone, one with thermal drone, one with search dogs.
The thermal drone and search dogs found a suspected “safe place” with a flat grass bed made under a bush, in a field next to the place he was last seen (on Monday 29th July). We have permission to place cameras there tomorrow (Monday 5th august) night, so we’ll put out some food.
