Rejected Tourist Visa for child
My family has Aus PR. That is me, my partner and my son. Daughter was born after we acquired PR so she doesn’t have it.
Our PR is expiring soon on March so we are planning to move there permanently. We have visited a few times earlier and last October we visited after I got a tourist visa for my 2 year old daughter.
Now we intend to move there permanently and considering the child visa takes up to 2 years to come through, I again applied for a tourist visa and I was upfront that we are moving to Australia as a family.
My daughter’s tourist visa has been rejected since they believe that she intends to migrate (which is true). The ART process costs 3.5k so not viable. What should I do- 1. Reapply for tourist visa for her under family stream and mention that we will be coming back to Asia in a month. 2. Apply for child visa now and wait indefinitely and possibly apply for a RRV for us so we can travel to Australia later when child visa comes through.
Or any other options?
Edit 1 - Since there have been a lot of comments about it, let me clarify. I’m in an industry which is niche and Australia requires these skills. My PR came along in 2020 and lockdown was instituted shortly after. No chance to move. Then after 2 years in 2022 my daughter was born and for those who are aware having help in Asia is a blessing to raise young children, hence we decided to move when baby was slightly older. Starting a new life while also looking for jobs etc in a market where housing was at its peak seems quite unnerving for us. Hence we are where we are and have decided to finally take the plunge to move. But the baby situation seems to be tricky.
