ANZ transfer limits are ridiculously low
I’ve recently purchased a property with a loan through ANZ, and the deposit is due this week.
I phoned them earlier in the week to make sure the total amount (over $130K) could be transferred over the phone, as their app only allows for $25K daily and online banking $25K daily.
So yesterday, I called after receiving my deposit invoice, and firstly, they said they couldn’t transfer after 4PM, which is annoying, but I can deal with that.
They then said there is a $28 fee involved to transfer my money. Ok, annoying, but whatever.
Then I give them the BSB of the Realty Company account and they say “Sorry, they are not a partner bank, we can’t transfer to them.’
Great. I have one other option, the Estate Agent Trust; so I give them that BSB. “Sorry, we cannot transfer to another ANZ account, do you have another one we can try?"
I didn't have another account to try, so they said I can try using BPAY. But it has a $50K limit per day and a 3 day delay. That won’t work.
So they recommend that I could transfer over 3-4 days in $25K increments. Back at square one.
I am going into a branch today to see if I can hopefully get it done; I would have loved to avoid waiting in line for an hour at a 2-star rated branch that is 20 minutes drive away, just to access my own money.
Is this seriously the norm for ANZ?? Is there is any real reason that they can’t just increase the transfer limit for one day? I would love to hear other people’s experiences with them.
