Do the people in your country criticize you for making lunch for your school age kid?

In Turkey, there are some influencers who post what they prepare for their kids lunch box. These menus are usually things like "meatballs and pasta" or some "turkish soup and bread, fruits". Nothing fancy. Everytime I open these posts, I see women commenting saying: "there are parents who cant afford to prepare meals like this. You're making other children envy those meals. You are so cruel for not just putting "cheese, olives and bread only for lunch". Doesn't your kid eat at home? Why is he eating such meals for lunch and making other kids smell their food?" Most times, parents are given a set menu to prepare too to prevent this.

I remind you these influencers do not pack food that would smell like kimchi, iskembe (stomach soup) or fish or some very non cultural (to turkey) dish that its smell could potentially disturb others.

So yes you got the idea. In Turkey, we have a culture of making sure you dont show off or you dont eat fancy stuff in front of others, or you make sure you can share your meal. As a student, whenever someone gets a packaged products for exp, its usually normal for them to ask around to if they want some.
