nyc on a budget

Hi!!

A friend and I are planning to travel out to nyc in June for his birthday.

Excluding the plane ticket, we wouldn't want to spend more than $1000 if we go out for 5-6 days. We are looking for budget friendly hotels that include breakfast, preferably in soho or by the edge of jersey.

We also want to know about any 'small' places that are worth going to, for instance, stand up comedy shows(I would take him to one for his birthday), and "underground museums" as he described it.

It would help a lot since for tourists it's hard to find places like these. Thank you in advance 🙏🏼
