Rock or Jazz music venues

Hi all

I am taking my parents on a trip to New York for their first time for 6 nights in April 2025.

Now the trip is a while away but I have started to do a bit of planning.

One thing they defiently want to do is see live music. I was wondering if folks had reccomadations for venues who play live rock or jazz music.

I will of course look at specific events more near the time but be great if folks had some bars/venues that are good for this type of thing
