How feasible is a reverse commute from Brooklyn to Hoboken 2x weekly?
Hey there,
I'm considering a job with an office in Hoboken, right by the Path station. I would need to go in 8 workdays a month.
I'm currently living in South Brooklyn off 4th Avenue, and the commute is around 50 minutes one way per Google Maps. I could either take the D/N to Herald, or the R to WTC to get the PATH. This doesn't seem too bad to me, other than needing to pay for both the MTA and PATH.
I am not considering moving to Manhattan or Hudson County, most of my family and friends are in Brooklyn.
If anyone has done this, is it miserable or mostly sustainable? I think I wouldn't want to do it daily but a few times a week doesn't seem that awful, and it really wouldn't be worse than a commute to the UES or UWS for me. Secondly, how annoying are the tax implications for working in NJ and living in NY?
