What does emotional support from your partner look like?
Hey, guys. I hope you're all doing well.
I’m curious about how you define and experience emotional support in your relationships. As men, it can sometimes feel like society doesn’t encourage us to talk about our emotional needs, so I wanted to ask this question in a space where men over 30 might have some wisdom or unique perspectives to share.
What does emotional support from your partner look like for you? Do you need words of affirmation, someone to vent to without judgment, or maybe a partner who just quietly supports you by being there?
How has your need for emotional support changed as you’ve gotten older? And for those in happy, long-term relationships, how do you communicate these needs effectively?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts—thanks in advance for sharing!
