Secondment laws?

Hi,

After returning from maternity leave, my partner was seconded out. What was biweekly hour and a half commute (one way) is now a 2 hour commute daily.

She initially agreed to commuting 2 days a week to the office where she was seconded out to (doesn’t have that in writing), but they want her there 5 days a week.

She leaves the house at 6 and returns at 6, and whilst I’m sure there’s people out there who have it worse, this is obviously unsustainable when you put a 10 month old into the mix.

She is on the hunt for a new job that’s either closer to home or remote, but if there is any advice as to what she could be doing in the meantime to try and get a better work life balance (such as any laws re:secondment) I’d love to hear it!
