[PA] Inappropriate texts from a Director of Operations
Yesterday, I was watching the Eagles game with my husband and my inlaws. Partway into the game I received a text from an unknown number. This was the conversation
Unknown:Gotta be honest. I kinda like this.
Me: Who is this? I don't have you in my contacts.
Unknown: Sorry-redacted. Seriously- I like that you asked.
Me: I think the Eagles look good. Green Bay isn't going to win anything with their turnovers. That being said the first fumble should have been a GB ball. But I'm not complaining
Unknown:👍
It turned out to be a Director of Operations of another department at work. He used to be my Director and I interviewed with him for a team leader position under him. But it went to someone else. I later received a team leader promotion for another department. Now, I just walk past his office on my way to my locker. Maybe once a week we will discuss sports. But it's just workplace conversation. I only responded to his texts to kind of keep the peace while I figure things out.
I'm a married mid 30s female and he's well into middle age. The texts seem innocent enough. But I never directly gave him my number. If I called out there was a callout number. And I sent a text to my direct team leaders. The company itself is 500-1000 employees. There is a multi-team HR department. I feel like I need to report this but I want to go in prepared before I do.
Update: I spoke to the Director. He actually approached me while he was talking to another manager. He apologized and said he shouldn't have done that. He knew he fucked up when I asked who he was. I'm saving the messages and documenting everything. I made it clear that what he did was a breach of privacy.
