Optimal plan for a 300' electrical run
First, I do plan to hire a licensed electrician to do a safety check on this before it's ever energized. I'm planning to do all the grunt work. I need to run power down a 300' driveway to power a couple of carriage lights (will be LED) and a single quad outlet that will be used to power a security camera, potentially a gate opener and seasonally for plugging in Christmas lights/decorations. About 200' down I plan to branch off for an eventual pump house that would just be a single outlet and LED light (the outlet would just be for very occasional use as well).
Given that I don't ever see a need for more than a 5-10A load at the furthest outlet, my plan is as follows (all in buried PVC conduit):
300' of 6ga THHN/THWN-2 copper (one black for hot)
300' of 6ga THHN/THWN-2 copper (one white for neutral)
300' of 8ga THHN/THWN-2 copper (green for ground)
A J box at the 200' mark to branch off which would branch to 12ga copper
A J box at the 300' mark that will then go to 12ga copper that runs about 20' total to one side of the driveway for one light and about 8' on the same side as the J box for the outlet and other light.
Does this sound like a decent plan? Anything different or better that you would recommend? This is in the US.
