What is the UK’s actual strategy for Ukraine?

After Trump’s election, more people have been discussing the end of the Ukraine war which has prompted me to reflect a bit about Europe and the UK’s role in it.

I’ve realised that we have had no real plan for that country beyond supporting an endless war on their territory, this past year.

Ukraine is currently losing territory and has been for a few months already. Despite us pouring in billions of our money and weapons into this conflict, Ukraine is retreating and losing soldiers whilst continuing to get bombarded.

I think it’s shameful how many Ukrainian lives have been lost, how much Ukraine has been bled out, only for it to not get any closer to achieving their war goals of liberating their entire territory. America and Germany still don’t want to let Ukraine into NATO, mind.

But yet, our politicians continue advocating for war. More escalation, more deaths for nothing.

Can someone please explain the logic behind this strategy, or what the strategy actually is, because in my mind it’s not working?
