Active dry yeast use
Hi everyone, very beginner noob in all things baking here.
I will bake my first bread soon and I’m trying to understand this yeast thing. I’m going to follow this recipe: https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/no-knead-bread/#tasty-recipes-71740
It says to stir together the yeast, flour, salt, and then warm water, then just set aside to let it rise. But I’m wondering if it would be better to first mix the yeast with some sugar and warm water and let it foam for 5 minutes before adding the flour and salt? I’m assuming the reason is that it wouldn’t make any difference and so just skipping the foaming part, but I just want to understand better.
Thanks you for any help!
