How is a lifestyle in Australia better than America?

I'm an Aussie here who has spent the past ~10 years working in the U.S. I've done well here career wise, but really miss the lifestyle/work culture in Australia as well as my friends and family. I want to move back to Australia in the next few years, but a lot of my colleagues and friends are genuinely surprised/confused when I tell them it's because I prefer the lifestyle.

I'm having trouble articulating exactly what is better in a way that makes sense to people (they are genuinely curious) because it's really just the /vibe of the thing/. I find that in Aus people are more chill, there is less stark income inequality, work is more relaxed, there's public transport that works, and there's more time for leisure. But these reasons don't exactly hit with people.

I'm in an area of California where people have great dining options, they have good healthcare through their job, they benefit from the inequality (having low paid cleaners, landscapers, and nannies is just the norm) and although people are more democratic there still seems to be a big sense of American exceptionalism.

How can I better unpack the vibe?
