In Person AB Haul! San Francisco Candydoll
Made an unplanned day trip to San Francisco last weekend and stopped by Candydoll in Japantown. Never had been and wasn’t sure what they had, and was delighted to find some products on my list!! When I saw the Illiyoon gel, I audibly gasped and lunged down the aisle like a fool.
All are first time purchases. I have combination skin, oily/breakout prone, sensitive. Climate is “Mediterranean” - currently very hot, dry summer. Right now I’m trying to find a stable baseline routine focused on hydration and soothing products.
Isntree - Hyaluronic Acid Airy Sun Stick: initial thoughts are that it’s very smooth, feels like it’s barely there. Just wanted something on hand for touch ups as I’m terrible at reapplying before walks during work day.
CosRX - Centella Blemish Cream: so far so good! Tried it on a spot and think it helped reduce size, redness. I was looking for a gentle spot treatment, happy to have something to try out.
Benton - Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel: a bit of an impulse buy after seeing this on the sub recently, I like it! Super lightweight, dries fast. Patch tests have been good, no irritation, no noticeable smell for me. Also compulsively applied to giant mosquito bite on my back and it reduced quite a bit. 😅
Illiyoon - Ceramide ATO Soothing Gel: love the texture. It’s smooth and silky and dries so fast. Skin feels quite soft with night use. I do notice extra t-zone oiliness when I’ve been wearing this in the daytime, so I’m wondering if it’s maybe better for nighttime. Also alternating use with ATO concentrate cream (not pictured), which I feel like I now understand I need the tiniest amount to apply then I love it. I’m happy to have both products on hand.
Kose - Softymo Speedy x Pokemon: I was so charmed to find this!! It is sitting on my bathroom counter with its cute little cheeks. Have not tried as I’m finishing other cleansing balms RN.
Isntree - Onion Newpair Pimple Patch: Never seen this before! They were out of CosRX patches I asked about. Haven’t actually used any patches before.
What I didn’t buy, lol: I was tempted by CosRX propolis ampoule and light cream, but decided to wait until I’ve used up other products. I was also very tempted by a limited array of Hada Labo lotions but have a couple HA toners being shipped as we speak (whoops! Buying too much!). I do think I’ll pick up Naturie - Hatomugi Skin Conditioner (or was it the milk??) next time, they had a trial size I’m kicking myself for not just adding in.
