I’m confused about Ohio State

Hi, I am an international student and I plan to study at Ohio State University but whenever I search for the university I find a lot of negative comments about the university and the state which makes me think about applying to other universities. What I care most about in university is the social life and the fun life on the weekends and I don't really know anything about Columbus City and Ohio state uni and I need someone to help me clarify it
