Is there any way to safely hack ACNL?

After taking a few years away from Animal Crossing to focus on other things I am finally ready to sit back, relax, and fall in love with it again.

Here’s the problem…I started a new town and so my all my furniture and flowers are gone, and I don’t want to go through the hassle of waiting for specific furniture or breeding flowers again. Bell making is easy, no worries about that, it’s really just furniture and flowers.

I’ve previously used a device from GameStop to hack items or bells, no longer have it and it ended up corrupting my game anyway.

Anyone know?
