Treasure Island not working?

I’m trying to go to a treasure island for the first time ever, so have no experience with this whatsoever.

I found a stream via Twitch with free islands but when I click depart after typing the code in, it’s just stuck on “getting ready to depart” - it’s been stuck for nearly an hour and I put flight mode on to get out of it without quitting the game but now that I tried again, its doing the same thing again.

Any advice on how to fix this? Is this an issue with the treasure island or my switch? My wifi connection btw is strong, so can’t be that.
