Anyone else been on Ancestry for 10+ years and still haven’t matched with bio family?

My mom was adopted. 10 years ago, right away I was able to figure out a lot about her bio mother's family through a cousin that matched with us, but we never went further than a few emails. I wish we could've gotten to know them better but they weren't interested. At least we now have the basic info on that side.

Her bio father's side, however, has been so much harder. I've connected to several cousins and even someone who appears more closely related and none of them have ever gotten back to me. I even stopped mentioning my mom is adopted in the messages just to get them to talk to me.

I'm not a paying Ancestry member anymore, and I don't have the time I did back in the day to go super sleuthing and study people's family trees to get the info I want. Maybe that's the missing piece. But I don't know why it has to be this hard.

Has anyone else been waiting a super long time to match with bio family and still haven't found them?
