My journey with fistula

7 months ago when I was in my university hostel I start feeling a bit pain near my anus but I kept ignoring the symptoms thinking that it's just a fissure and I'll cure it with a good diet . The problem starts here , My mess is shittiest thing in the world they always serve oily and extra spicy things which is detrimental for the anus.
My water intake was also low coz I was lazy to fetch water from the R.O purifier.
2 days after I felt a bump near my anus started feeling fever and chills. I thought it's juts a boil or normal abcess that'll drain on its own. The pain gets worsen I called my parents and they were blind sure that it's just a common boil ( I was scared that it's a cancer tumor) the pain was so intense that I got troubled walking, I was in bed for 2 days thinking that it'll burst and get healed but it started getting worse ( I know i should've gone to the doctor and drained it but I was far from home and I had no one to take care of me and to take me hospital) so I booked a cab to my hometown ( *so expensive ) I laid at the back seat and went home .
An hour after I went home it drained on its own and the pain gone ( nearly gone) It. Drained a lot of pus lots and lots of pus and smelled foul .
Then I went to the local doctor ( I never trust the doctors of my hometown) he said it's just a boil coz of ingrown hair . He told the nurses to dressing and gave some antibiotics( linezolid) after a week I was normal so I went back to the hostel .
The for the next two months I nearly forgot about this incident but one day the bump and fever reappeared I googled and i was sure it's a fistula and I've to go for a surgery.
Then from my hostel I went to the medical college of my own university with a friend and the surgeon inserted fingers inside my hole and said you've got fistula and you need fistulectomy.
I was not that much of surprised becoz I knew it but my parents started getting tensed.
I went to my hometown ASAP and the next day I went to the capital city of my state to a top medical college . They said to take antibiotics and advised sitz bath the doctors said I don't have a fistula even they checked by inserting fingers no internal opening found . I asked the doctor to prescribe me MRI but he resisted he said go get a Xray fistulogram . I went to get xray but the diagnosis guys were so non professional they inserted the catherer inside me without lidocaine that was so much of pain ... the report said I have a sinus Tract without internal opening. Now the doctors said you don't have a fistula gave antibiotics ( they were top surgeons ) Indian Healthcare sucks sometimes .
But deep inside I knew I had fistula my parents said you're to health anxious you don't have fistula and you're exaggerating things .
I decided to get an MRI without doctor's prescription cost me 100$ .
MRI showed ( Grade 1 intersphincture fistula) again i was not shocked but parents were then I went to the medical college and showed them report they said you've to wait a month to get a free surgery *govt hospital .
But I already wasted a month so time was precious to me exams were close.
So there were 3 options 1 ) fistulectomy 2)kshar sutra 3) laser ablation
I decided fistulectomy and went to the top surgeon of my state he said that he's now retiring and closing the hospital. I requested him a lot to do the last surgery of mine but he resisted saying that I can do your surgery but what about your recovery? Or what if you start feeling incontinence after a month ? I'll be shifted to a new city ( his points seems legit to me) I was unlucky and confused I asked him to suggest me some doctors you trust.
Then he referred to a nearby multispeciality private hospital . I went to the doctor and he examined me I got all the required tests :
1) MRI
2) XRAY FISTULOGRAM
3) PAC BLOOD TEST
4) ECG & FITNESS
5) PUS CULTURE TEST FOR MY DISCHARGE
pus culture showed the resistance and sensitivity of the infection causing bacteria with various antibiotics ( AMIKACIN WORKED FOR ME)
he scheduled the surgery next day ( I was not even a bit scared)
The night before surgery I was a bit anxious and couldn't sleep . Next day early morning at 8 I went to the hospital dressed up for ot . I was not a bit scared for surgery coz the frustration from the doctors , diagnosis centres, travel , different advises made me pissed of I just wanted to get operated ASAP.
Inside OT it was too cold I was shivering a lot ( a lot even I was scared if it's a attack ) they gave me saddle block anaesthesia and my lower body from lower lungs was numb. Doctor was so chilled during surgery I was conscious and I was joking with the nurses for real it was a very casual environment doctor was teasing me that I don't have a girlfriend. During surgery he asked my permission to open a bit of track coz it was hard for him to find the track I said do whatever you want with my body just make me get rid of this disease . The surgery went for only 10 mins i was shifted to the room .
It was 0 pain during the surgery coz of anaesthesia and when I shifted to room i was scared that if the effect of the numbness wears off I'll be in pain . So I was numb but I called the nurse saying that im in pain and give me pain killers she injected but I was still numb and I knew the effect is going to get loose anytime ( I tricked the nurse) finally the anesthesia exists the scene and i was fully conscious ( 0 pain again) I couldn't believed .
I called my friend who's a doctor and recently he was also went through fistulectomy and he said ipl be in pain after the effect goes of . But i was completely okay not a single pain.
They gave liquid diet and admitted me for 2 days .
Doctor asked me to stay for 3 days ( i knew it's a private hospital and they want to make more) I said I'm okay and I wanna go home I requested and they discharged me.
I got home and pooped saw blood discharge and a bit of pain 2/10 one could easily bear . But the discharge of blood was only for the first day after that i continued sitz bath and felt nearly no pain I was surprised . But during coughing or sneezing I felt some pain but was okay . My dad did the dressing everyday and now it's been a month and I'm okay.
Going for surgery was a good decision even if it was costly .
Ik laser surgery has reccurence rate but I prefer a bit luck compromised than suffering pain from open surgery or kshar sutra .
I'm healing good just a bit discharge in gauge.
Hoping ill get healed quickly by gods grace.
