My car was stolen!! ☹️😭

Welp it finally happened! Story time! At least one (possibly two) younger teen boys stole my fucking car in Philly. I’ve been doing this as my main hustle for over 4 months now (taking an extended mental health break from my last job as a social worker/counselor & almost making AS much money) and overall enjoy most aspects of this job.

Then came a few days ago. 7pm still broad daylight, I see an Amazon DSP driver leaving an apartment complex as I pull in. The neighborhood was actually not in a rough part of Philly. 9 times out of 10 when I deliver to apartments I will lock my car and deliver.

This apartment complex was 15-20 feet away. I was about to deliver & I turn around to see my fucking car drive by. I literally have nightmares every few days about this shit happening to me. I couldn’t believe it. The guy was driving away & the teen was running to get in my car as I was running like a banshee out of hell behind him to get my car back. I almost got to my car (adrenaline is a hell of a thing).

The shitheads sped off & I called the cops immediately. After they got to me, they received a call 15 MINUTES later that my car was located!!! How in the fuck?!? All I can think is that a GREAT Samaritan saw me running like a psycho with package in hand and followed these fucktards.

They parked 0.3 miles away in an apartment complex, backed in, left my car unlocked and with one of their phones inside plugged into my charger port! Four cops showed up and though they got leads on the perps, they didn’t find them. Didn’t even take the phone with them when they left me there to wait for a tow.

I was there for almost 2 hours just circling my car holding THEIR screwdriver they left in my hand ready to fuck some jerks up. I don’t know why the cops left a female by herself knowing the kids still had my car keys and could come back at any minute, at the very least for their phone. But they did. I’m pretty sure they drove up JUST as my car was getting on the tow truck.

Had to have my car towed from Philly to home almost an hour away (thanks for the lovely long drive as usual Amazon). They stole 10-12 of the 22 packages I had left and all my cards from my wallet (not my ID though). But I don’t care, I got my fucking car back!!! Cops said that literally NEVER happens or if it is found it’s totally destroyed. I’m definitely investing in a tracker for my car ASAP.

I’m pretty sure the jerks wanted to rob the DSP driver but saw he was a huge dude and didn’t want to take the chance. Instead pick on a vulnerable girl who has a bunch of packages in her personal car filled with dumb, not even worth your time, stuff to steal (like kitty litter and toilet paper lol).

They were definitely lying in wait and if my car wasn’t running, they probably would’ve bashed a window to get in and used the screwdriver to rip apart my car to start it. So in a weird way it was better that it was running.

Amazon was actually really good about this and made sure to follow up with me several times after this happened. I returned the extra packages and that was that.

I found the kid’s Instagram by swiping on his phone’s notifications and he has other videos breaking into other cars and his face on there. Debating informing the cops of this info. Phone was destroyed so it can’t be tracked to me, but I’m still worried somehow he’ll find me and steal my car again. I’ve been peeking outside the last few days sometimes just to make sure it’s still there.

Anyways, moral of this story is never leave your car running and leave it, even a few feet away or out of your eyesight. Keep your eyes peeled for creeps. Get a tracker for your vehicle. And finally be safe out there guys!!

I hope that if something like this happens to one of you that you’re granted with the luck I had that day and come through it as well as I did!! 🤓😊 —————————————————————-

TLDR: Teens stole my car while I was delivering packages in Philly, but luckily, it was found quickly with a phone left inside, leading to potential leads on the culprits. The car was abandoned nearby, unlocked, and missing some packages and debit/credit cards, but I was grateful to get it back undamaged. Despite the scare, Amazon provided good support, and I learned the importance of securing my car and considering a tracker to prevent future incidents.
