How do I be less impulsive?

I could probably be rich. I'm a good builder and I make lots of neons so my inventory is pretty decent. My problem is I can't keep more than six legendary pets in it at a time.

I keep giving away pets and I feel really happy when I overpay by a lot because I know I just made someone happy. Whenever I want something I get it, no matter how much I do not need it and can't afford it (I save a lot of my pets for neons and run low on stuff to trade often)

If I ever want my dps I need to stop being so impulsive about how I spend my pets, can anyone help?
