Using a tool/ weapon while riding on mount?

Hello all! I’m fairly new to Ark(under 200 hours) and am a bit confused about if we can use/ fire things such as bows and shotguns while riding on a mount. I’ve seen(or think I’ve seen) other YouTubers being able to use them while on a mount but I can’t seem to be able to do so while playing myself. Is there a certain setting that I need to turn on or is a mod that allows you to do so? Or am I just a noob? Thanks in advance!
