ADHD and Career Progression?
Hello,
Thanks to anyone who is reading this.
I am 26, I was a cook/chef for the past 7 years of my life. I am leaving the culinary industry because of the insane hours(sometimes 15+hour days), bad of pay, terrible work life balance, and stress.
I have been doing my academic upgrading and have been accepted into college with a path to university for a CS degree.
I have a couple questions relating to other people's experiences and career progression with ADHD.
What has been your experience with career timeline? (I'm not super worried as I'll get there when I get there, I would just like to know) did you get to Sr.Dev position in 5 years or 10?
Have you found being in management a possibility for you? What have you done to make it easier on yourself?
If you started your career later, did you find you could keep up with others? (I'll be out of uni when I'm 30. I'll be doing co-op terms and probably doing some work once I get my college diploma)
Did you discuss work strategies around ADHD with anyone? (I usually don't unless I find it 100% necessary)
