What ideal city to live in?

So tired from overthinking and can't decided on anything. So far I'm having 3 options like Chicago, Houston or any city in Alabama. Currently living in the south but want to move as a family. Mostly care about job opportunities and moderate cost of living and convenience. Houston seems so big and going from one place to another takes up a lot of time. Chicago sounds good too. I don't know much Alabama besides cost of living is cheaper.
