Which area to setup 3D printer?
Greetings!
I’m new to the hobby but excited! When doing my research, most of the 3-D printing advice I saw was about how to get the prints to turn out the way you want them. There wasn’t as much about where in your house to set up your 3-D printer.
After going down quite a few YouTube rabbit holes, I found more videos on the health effects of using a resin 3-D printer in your house. From what I understand the area you do your 3-D printing in needs to be well ventilated but also room temperature.
I live in a split level home, which has two potential options for 3-D printing. First option is my laundry room and the second option is the garage.
Pros for the laundry room are that it is room temperature, on the bottom floor of my home and does not have much traffic in the area. If we are not doing laundry, it is near a window that we can leave open. For the laundry room that is inside our house and I would need to build a ventilation system into the closet. I want to use. it is possible to build this ventilation system.
Pros for the garage that is out of the way and even less traffic, it is away from the main living areas of the home, and also has a window or garage door that I could leave open during 3-D printing. Are from what I have read using a printer in your garage mainly to many failed bills. I live in the Seattle area and the weather in the winter can be quite cold from October through March. from what I have researched, you can buy a grow tent with a ventilation system to protect the 3-D printer from the cold.
Out of these two options, which would be the better choice? And either case I would need to buy a ventilation system, figuring out which option is better would help me determine where to place the printer.
Thank you in advance and I apologize for the lengthy post!
