Roguelike Dungeon/Raids 4 idea
Its clear Colosseum has not met many expectations, especially in the vein of how the handicaps just feel so bad. Having buffs would have felt substantially better. This is an idea I've had for.a while but thought I'd share.
What if we had a roguelike dungeon or raid where as we progressed through the floors we were offered different buffs or items that could substantially change your build throughout the run. For example, we could be offered league style relics that increase your atk speed in a certain style or increase your min and max hit. As well as items such as tbow, scythe, shadow and a whole selection of items are offered each floor where you could only choose 1. You'd have to be careful with your selections and try to ensure your build has good synergy. The entire purpose would be to introduce extremely fun mechanics and gameplay loop while encountering more and more difficult floors as you go along.
It would also feature possibly up to 10 unique bosses with maybe 2 different final bosses. You wouldn't know which boss you'd be going up against until you get to the room, ensuring a feeling of never knowing what to expect. They shouldn't be weak to any style in specific but should have unique mechanics that might make certain builds a little more tolerable, but doable if you've been smart with your build.
This is just the surface level, but I feel like it has a ton of potential. What does everyone think? I'm sure some of you have had similar ideas. I feel like the Colosseum handicaps just feel awful and usually you have to pick 1 because the other 2 will end the run. But with this, so many different build combinations could truly make it a unique experience every time.
